CLAIRE HOOPER (Melb): A Few Small Things You Should Know About The Future

“Solar powered iPods, internet face transplants, teaching your children to handle semi automatic weapons to defend the bunker – who wouldn’t be looking forward to the future? I mean, in the future, I may have even completed my 08/09 tax return. It’s the stuff of science fiction. I can’t wait.”

Claire hit the comedy festival circuit running, scoring a Best Newcomer nomination at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival 2006. Claire quickly became recognisable to Australian audiences, through a hilarious stint as Paul McDermott’s cheeky sidekick on ABC TV’s The Sideshow and currently stars in Network Ten’s Good News Week.

BRIAN and KRYSSTAL (UK):Whinging Puns

Pure unadulterated silliness. UK’s ever-popular Brian & Krysstal doing what they do best, stand up, songs, characters, moaning.
Brian & Krysstal are a unique and popular double performing their unconventional vaudeville-style act, punctuated by silly songs, the odd bit of Spanish dancing, some characters and loads of belly laughs in Adelaide for the first time.

Brian and Krysstal

Brian (London comedy circuit legend Brian Damage) is infamously grumpy and dry: Krysstal (aka actor Vicky de Lacy) tries her best to be glamorous but is ditsy to distraction. They both play a variety of musical instruments, which are not always musical in their hands, and look forward to winning over Adelaide audiences ... and visiting their relatives!

As daft and charming as they are funnyStage UK.

ERIC’S TALES OF THE SEA (UK)a submariners yarn

Unique, riveting, funny and poignant, award-winning comedy.

Eric
“A One In A Million Show” 5 Stars –Three Weeks (UK)
‘Truly Excellent’ 5 Stars Fringe Review
“Breathtaking, poignant, suspenseful, and hilarious, Eric’s tales are enthralling, told by a gifted storyteller who will draw you into the murky depths of his world. Self-deprecating and never boastful, he gives an account of the bravery of his fellow submariners that is moving, humbling, and comic. Even if you’re not in the least interested in life aboard a submarine, this is thoroughly recommended.” – UK Times
"Quietly wonderful” 4 Stars –The London Times
“Eric’s captivating storytelling will draw you into the world inhabited by men engaged in one of the worlds most hazardous occupations: that of the Royal navy Submariner, aboard a nuclear submarine. He will keep you glued to your seat with hilarious tales of masturbation, friendship, and men sleeping like cramped sardines. A cheery Eric guided us through the emotional roller coaster of laughs and lows, with a heart warming conviction which brought my imagination to near nuclear meltdown. This show deserves credit for it’s brilliant originality, and captures the quirky essence of Fringe. One man with a story to tell, one name, a low budget, and lots of talent.” – 4 Stars Three Weeks (UK)

MELINDA BUTTLE (Bris) : Sista Got Flow

One of the brightest new talents on the national stand-up scene, You might have already met Mel in passing on The 7pm Project (Network Ten), at the Josh Thomas Variety Hour, or on ABC 612 with Richard Fidler. But it would be nice to say hello properly at her first ever-solo show.

Possibly Australia’s only juvenile delinquent-teaching, rap-battling, Twitterific gourmand to ever don a vintage frock on the comedy stage, to say that Mel is a hilarious bundle of contradictions is an understatement. And not to get too Susan Boyle on you, she has, um, never been kissed.

Emerging from in the Melbourne Comedy Festival’s Raw Comedy competition as Queensland’s national finalist in 2008, Mel is now a familiar face on the robust Brisbane comedy circuit, and making waves on the Melbourne and Sydney scene to boot.

In 2010, in between presenting her show in Brisbane, the Adelaide Fringe and Melbourne Comedy Festivals, she’ll keep busy rapping, twittering, and sorting out your school kids!

Mel says “It’s lovely to be performing at the Adelaide Fringe Festival, it will give me a nice break from sitting at home making crossword puzzles based on the lives of my Basset Hounds”.

“That Mel (re-) Buttle is on fire! So quick. So funny. More please.” JJJ Review
